PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Addleshaw Goddard, an international law firm with offices across UK, Europe, Middle East and Asia, is currently experiencing a significant growth trajectory. In 2022, we celebrated a decade of success in the Middle East, accompanied by a remarkable 43% revenue growth in the region alone. As part of our strategic expansion plans, we are preparing to launch our Riyadh office, which will serve as our fourth office in the region. This expansion further enhances AG\'s comprehensive full-service capability in the Middle East, complementing our existing offices in Dubai, Oman, and Qatar. We are seeking dynamic and talented professionals to join our team and contribute to our continued success in the region. THE TEAM
  • Working closely with your team and the lawyers in the Middle East, you will play a critical role in continuing to enhance AG\'s reputation in the region and drive revenue growth by proactively supporting on all BD aspects across clients, sectors, business groups and geographies.
  • Based in Dubai, you will work closely with the Middle East Senior BD Manager, working alongside a Bids Manager (secondee) and a Marketing Executive, all based in Dubai, in addition to regularly liaising with the global BD & marketing team.
  • The team supports 25 partners and over 60 lawyers across the Middle East on their business development and marketing needs. We are ambitious to demonstrate the firm\'s premium quality and imaginative approach, and the role will be hands on encompassing BD, marketing and account management principles and activities.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS ROLE
  • Work alongside the BD & marketing team in executing and implementing business and marketing plans for our corporate & commercial, finance, disputes, construction, employment, funds, projects & energy, real estate and restructuring practices in the Middle East.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact as the go-to person for day-to-day BD-specific tasks including pitching, research, building best practice, continuous improvement of our BD operational tools and platforms, client account management and ad-hoc projects.
  • Foster connections with our global BD team to facilitate collaboration within the firm across geographies, clients, sectors and business groups, in alignment with broader strategic business plans and priorities.
  • Work with lawyers and relevant business support staff to enhance their understanding, knowledge and utilisation of BD tools and resources, specifically Foundation and InterAction. This includes developing and maintaining modular pitch infrastructure (such as deal experience, CVs, region and business group specific material) and capturing client connections and BD engagement with individual client contacts.
  • Take ownership in the production and delivery of capability statements, bids and tenders for new business opportunities, from opportunity assessment, pre-bid conversations and preparing response drafts through to completion to providing adequate support to the Bids team on international elements of major tenders. Ensure that all regional pitch opportunities are recorded on the central pitch tracker.
  • Provide comprehensive support to lawyers in their individual client engagements, ranging from executing key client account deliverables to preparing presentation materials, conduct research and planning, while collaborating with our BD, design, research & knowledge and client programme teams.
YOUR AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE
  • You have a sound understanding of the professional services sector (ideally legal) and know what it is like to work in law firm, supporting Partners, senior-level stakeholders and peer BD&M colleagues.
  • A proven track record in people management and development and excels in building strong relationships with various stakeholders across the firm.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment and consistently deliver quality output in a timely manner, always prioritising client service.
  • High energy and inquisitive nature, demonstrates a willingness to continuously learn and improve, Possesses excellent attention to detail and are dedicated to delivering work of the highest standard.
  • A self-starter who is highly organised and adept in prioritising workload and managing expectations according to business need. This will often require you to manage conflicting requests or concurrent multiple projects with stakeholders of all levels.
  • An excellent team player who is committed to elevating the profile of Business Development and Marketing with all stakeholders in the firm.
  • Marketing or communications qualifications are desirable but not essential.
  • Proficient in computer skills, particularly in Word and PowerPoint, the candidate is adept at utilizing technology to support their work.
