Brain Injury Specialist Job Duties
Brain injury specialists have a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:
  • Conducting cognitive, physical, speech, and language evaluations to determine the nature of the injury and the best course of treatment
  • Conducting research in order to develop new treatment methods for patients with similar conditions
  • Explaining test results to patients and their families in language they can understand
  • Coordinating with other healthcare providers such as physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and social workers to develop treatment plans that address all areas of need
  • Recommending modifications to the patient\xe2\x80\x99s environment to facilitate recovery
  • Performing neuropsychological assessments to determine whether patients are able to safely return to work or school after an injury
  • Providing emotional support and counseling services to help patients cope with their injuries
  • Conducting training sessions for other medical professionals who will be working with the patient during treatment
  • Using computer software to create visual representations of patient data.

Brain Injury Specialist Job Requirements
A brain injury specialist typically needs to have the following qualifications:

Education:
