The Body Shop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the body shop, ensuring high-quality repairs, efficient workflow, and excellent customer service. This role includes managing a team of technicians, coordinating repair jobs, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and supporting the overall success of the body shop.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the work of body shop technicians and painters.
Assign repair jobs and monitor progress to ensure timely and accurate completion.
Inspect completed work to ensure high quality and compliance with manufacturer and industry standards.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to staff.
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and OSHA regulations.
Manage parts ordering and inventory control to prevent delays in repair work.
Collaborate with insurance adjusters, customers, and vendors as needed.
Keep accurate records of repairs, labor hours, and materials used.
Help resolve customer complaints or concerns related to body repairs.
Monitor productivity and recommend improvements for efficiency and cost control.
Support and enforce company policies and procedure.
Maintain timely punching of technicians according to the jobs assigned for correct efficiency evaluation.
Qualifications:
High school diploma, technical school or college degree preferred.
3-5 years of experience in auto body repair, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of collision repair techniques, materials, and equipment.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
