BIM Production Manager - BIM Team Lead
to oversee and lead the digital production process for large-scale Autodesk Revit-based projects. The BIM Production Manager will be responsible for ensuring high-quality deliverables, model accuracy, team efficiency, and adherence to BIM standards across all project phases.
This role is ideal for a BIM professional with extensive experience in model production, team leadership, and digital project delivery--bridging the gap between design intent, technical coordination, and output documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the BIM production team in developing, maintaining, and delivering coordinated Revit models across all design disciplines (architecture, structure, MEP).
Define and implement production workflows, model management strategies, and quality control procedures.
Enforce adherence to the BIM Execution Plan (BEP), ISO 19650 standards, LOD definitions, and client requirements.
Assign and supervise modeling tasks across internal and external production teams, ensuring timelines and milestones are met.
Oversee the setup, organization, and maintenance of Revit models and linked files throughout the project lifecycle.
Conduct regular audits of Revit models for health, performance, and compliance with standards.
Coordinate closely with BIM Coordinators, Project Architects, Engineers, and external consultants to resolve technical challenges and ensure deliverable quality.
Manage version control, worksharing, and Revit central file operations for distributed collaboration using tools like BIM Collaborate Pro (ACC).
Provide training, mentorship, and support to production staff on advanced Revit workflows, family creation, and automation tools like Dynamo.
Report on production progress, issues, and risks to senior management and project leadership.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Minimum 8 years of experience in BIM production and Revit model management, with at least 2 years in a BIM team leadership or BIM management role.
Expert-level proficiency in Autodesk Revit, including family development, worksets, phasing, and linked model coordination.
Strong working knowledge of BIM tools such as Navisworks, BIM Collaborate Pro, AutoCAD, and Dynamo (preferred).
Familiarity with industry standards including ISO 19650, COBie, and IFC.
Proven experience managing BIM deliverables on complex, multidisciplinary projects (e.g., high-rise, healthcare, transportation, or infrastructure).
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills with a detail-driven mindset.
Ability to troubleshoot complex modeling issues and maintain efficient model performance.
Preferred Skills for 2025:
Experience with cloud-based CDEs (Common Data Environments) such as Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
Knowledge of automation and AI tools for BIM workflows (e.g., Revit add-ins, machine learning-enhanced QA tools).
Exposure to integrated project delivery (IPD), 4D/5D BIM, and digital twin strategies.
Familiarity with project scheduling and cost estimation integration tools (e.g., Synchro, Vico, CostX).
