Job Description

The Mechanical BIM Modeler will be responsible for creating, developing, and managing detailed Building Information Models (BIM) for Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting (MPF) systems. This role requires a strong understanding of MEP systems, proficiency in BIM software, and a thorough knowledge of ISO 19650 standards to ensure high-quality, coordinated, and clash-free designs.

Key Responsibilities:

BIM Model Development: Develop accurate and detailed 3D BIM models for HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), plumbing (water supply, drainage, sanitary), and fire fighting (sprinkler, hose reel, standpipe, fire alarm conduit routing) systems using Autodesk Revit MEP. Conduct internal quality checks on BIM models to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project specifications, industry codes, and regulations (e.g., UAE Municipalities, Civil Defense requirements for Fire Fighting). Perform rigorous clash detection using Navisworks Manage or similar coordination tools to identify and resolve design conflicts proactively. Having sound knowledge in creating parametric revit families. Generate 2D drawings, layouts, sections, elevations, and schedules directly from the BIM models. Mandatory familiarity with ISO 19650 standards, ensure all models and deliverables comply with the Common Data Environment (CDE) protocols and information exchange requirements outlined in the BEP. Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field (or a Diploma with extensive relevant experience). BIM Certification is a plus. Experience Level: Minimum of 5-8 years of demonstrable experience as a BIM Modeler in a design consultancy or construction environment, with a strong focus on [Mechanical/Plumbing & Fire Fighting] systems. Technical Skills (Hard Skills): Expert proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD (specifically Revit MEP) for detailed 3D modeling of relevant systems. Strong proficiency in Autodesk Navisworks Manage for clash detection, coordination, and model review. Familiarity with other BIM tools like BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) is a significant advantage. Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in model creation and documentation. Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve design and coordination issues.
