Role Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated BIM Facade Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be the technical bridge between advanced facade design and digital construction methodologies. You will be responsible for developing, managing, and coordinating detailed 3D models of building facades, ensuring design intent is translated into precise, constructible, and clash-free models. Your expertise will be crucial in facilitating collaboration among architects, structural engineers, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
BIM Model Development & Management:

• Create, develop, and manage high-detail 3D BIM models for complex building facades using software such as Autodesk Revit, Rhino, and Grasshopper.
• Generate accurate and detailed 2D drawings, schedules, and reports directly from the BIM model.
• Develop and implement BIM execution plans (BEPs) and modeling standards specific to facade packages.
• Manage model data and ensure its integrity, accuracy, and consistency across all project stages.

Technical Design & Detailing:

• Translate architectural design intent into technically feasible and detailed facade systems (e.g., unitized curtain walls, window walls, precast, stone, metal panels).
• Perform clash detection analyses using tools like Navisworks Manage and coordinate resolutions with other discipline models (MEP, Structure, Architecture).
• Create and manage construction-level details, interfaces, and connections within the BIM environment.
• Assist in the development of fabrication-level models and drawings for manufacturing.

Collaboration & Coordination:

• Act as a key point of contact for BIM-related queries on the facade package.
• Lead and participate in coordination meetings with internal teams, clients, architects, and other stakeholders.
• Facilitate the exchange of model data using Common Data Environments (CDE) like BIM 360/Acc or ProjectWise.

Innovation & Process Improvement:

• Stay current with the latest BIM technologies, software updates, and industry best practices (ISO 19650).
• Explore and implement automation and parametric design techniques to improve modeling efficiency.
• Provide training and support to junior engineers and drafters on BIM processes and standards.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Architecture, Architectural Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of proven experience in a similar role, specifically within the facade engineering, curtain wall, or building envelope sector.
• Expert-level proficiency in Autodesk Revit is mandatory.
• Strong experience with clash detection software (e.g., Navisworks Manage).
• Solid understanding of facade systems, materials, construction methodologies, and building physics.
• Excellent knowledge of BIM standards (e.g., ISO 19650) and best practices.

Highly Desirable:

• Proficiency in Rhinoceros 3D (Rhino) and Grasshopper for complex geometry and parametric design.
• Experience with BIM 360/Acc or other CDE platforms.
• Experience with visual programming (Dynamo, Python) for automation.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, C#) to develop custom tools.
• Familiarity with environmental analysis tools (e.g., THERM, Flixo) is a plus.
