We have an opportunity for a Grade 6 BIM Design Manager, to join our creative and inclusive team in the Dubai Office. Our team have worked on an array of prestigious and exciting projects across a variety of sectors, including Commercial, Residential and Aviation.
The position is both an internal and external facing role overseeing and leading the implementation on BIM and Information Management (IM) on our projects. You will provide support to the team and the leadership and advise to our collaborators and clients, helping them achieve their goals and objectives. You will also be required to network with the wider business, providing links to digital initiatives and seeking pragmatic ways to improve our working practices.
You will help deliver the BIM and IM strategy and further develop the career plan, chartership routes and learning paths for the discipline, and provide line management and support the development and expansion of the team. You will also be involved in bids, project forecasting and work winning, and identify opportunities by engaging with project teams and clients.

Responsibilities
Based in Dubai but working closely with teams across the United Kingdom, India, Middle East and Africa region and the globe, you will work in a dynamic team on diverse projects whilst gaining the opportunity to further develop your skills and knowledge in BIM, IM and Digital:
Managing the Information Requirements on projects, including reviewing and writing documents such as the Exchange/Asset Information Requirements, the BIM Execution Plan and supplementary documents
Advising clients on their Employers Requirements and strategic needs
Collaborating with the wider design team and contractors
Managing BIM Coordination on projects, including federating models, clash detection, and managing the issue resolution process
Managing Quality Assurance/Control and compliance on projects
Managing Common Data Environments (CDEs)
Implementing and managing processes on projects (including automation)
Researching and implementing emerging technologies
Staying informed of industry trends and emerging markets, such as Smart Buildings, IoT and Digital Twin
Growing and maintaining relationships and becoming well-connected with key stakeholders across the business and industry
Sharing expertise and influencing on a global scale
Managing multiple projects and a team with varying skills and expertise
Chairing meetings and running workshops
Providing support, development, and mentoring to the team
Supporting bids and fee proposals, and forecasting spend
Promoting Arup through presentations, speaking engagements and lectures
Managing the commercial and contractual aspects on IM and BIM on projects
Requirements and skills
A university degree in a relevant discipline and/or completed apprenticeship in the AEC industry
Proven experience within the AEC industry
Proven experience in design and collaboration in the build environment
Expert knowledge of BIM authoring, coordination, and collaboration tools
Proven experience working in a BIM environment and multidisciplinary coordination
A good working knowledge of relevant standards, such as ISO 19650
A commercial awareness of BIM and IM, and an ability review contracts, scope, and design responsibilities
Extensive experience in managing CDEs
Experience in delivering projects to stages of Work
Experience in managing a team and the development of others
A knowledge of the connected areas of BIM and IM, including GIS, Asset Data, Systems management
A knowledge of project documentation and delivery methods, and interoperability between platforms
