Purpose of the Job

The Energy Storage Systems Engineer will be responsible for the technical design, integration, and delivery of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This role ensures that system components from leading suppliers are evaluated, selected, and integrated to meet project requirements and industry standards. The engineer will provide technical expertise to support pre-sales, commissioning, and project optimization efforts, playing a key role in the successful implementation of BESS projects.

Key Responsibilities

Lead technical design and integration of BESS projects according to client and regulatory requirements. Evaluate and select BESS components such as batteries, Power Conversion Systems (PCS), Energy Management Systems (EMS), cooling, and fire suppression solutions. Develop detailed system architectures that comply with relevant safety and performance standards. Collaborate with sales and project teams to provide technical support during the pre-sales phase. Manage technical coordination with vendors and partners to ensure component compatibility and system reliability. Support commissioning activities, troubleshoot system issues, and optimize performance during project execution. Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, reports, and handover packages.

Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics Engineering, or related technical discipline. Minimum 3 years of experience working in the BESS industry, preferably with recognized brands or distributors. Solid understanding of energy storage technologies, system integration, and commissioning processes. Familiarity with key BESS components (batteries, PCS, EMS, cooling, fire protection). Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience with grid-tied and off-grid energy storage applications is a plus. Knowledge of international safety and performance standards (UL, IEC, IEEE) related to energy storage systems is desirable.
