Behavioral Economist for an International Consulting Firm, Dubai
The Firm is growing its behavioral science capacity to work on the application of behavioral insights into a variety of policy areas and for a number of projects and programs. The Behavioral Economist will work directly with the Government and Public Sector practice to manage and support in the application of behavioral science into different projects and programs as well as client engagement.
Research and Analysis
Identify behavioral science opportunities in the current projects and programs within the Government and Public Sector practice
Understand and structure client needs and requirements to research and tackle them effectively using the insights from behavioral science
Manage the implementation of thorough behavioral diagnostics related to different policy challenges, this includes mixed research methods tools (e.g., surveys, focus groups, interviews,\xe2\x80\xa6)
Ideate and design science-backed behavioral interventions and solutions for public policy applications
Manage the implementation and the monitoring of field behavioral experiments in collaboration with internal and external team members
Consolidate, analyze and interpret secondary and primary data with the help of statistical software
Apply and use mixed analytical and statistical methods, including quantitative, qualitative, and computational methods to various projects and programs as need be
Develop appropriate research questions, design research protocols, conceptualize methodologies, such as data collection plans, analysis plans, and data interpretation
Develop research design and evaluation protocols (e.g., experiment research design for RCTs, sample size, randomization, power calculation, \xe2\x80\xa6)
Identify relevant literature or concepts from the behavioral sciences related to Government and Public Sector related challenges
Carry out a variety of research activities related to behavioral analysis, behavioral experiments, policy research, and projects
Support in tailoring content to different contexts and audiences related to behavioral insights
Support in developing training materials related to behavioral science and evidence-based approaches
Contribute to the writing process by developing reports, papers, and policy briefs and working closely with editors and counterparts
Keep abreast of the latest scientific research and development on the application of behavioral insights into relevant and related public policy and government practice
Assist the team in relevant research activities as needs arise
Qualifications:
Master\'s degree in behavioral science or economics, economics, experimental economics, neuroscience, decision science, social sciences, social policy, or any related field is a high advantage
Practical work experience, preferably in a behavioral science consulting, strategy consulting or other related field
6+ years of applied research experience, particularly in the field of behavioral economics
Demonstrated expertise running and analyzing qualitative and/or quantitative research, including focus group discussions, interviews, field observations, etc.
Previous experience working in a social impact consulting organization, international organization, policy or academic institution, and/or think tank is highly desirable
Skills:
Behavioral economics skills with a relevant Degree
Quantitative statistical research methods skills
Policy development and policy analysis
Excellent analytical and research skills
Project management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Fluency in English is a must, and competency in Arabic is strongly preferred
