The incumbent will continuously strive to exceed internal & external customer expectations, while embracing the Aldar Education core values.
The Basketball Lead will be responsible for planning, organising, and delivering basketball training and events to students at Aldar Education schools and academies. The lead will be responsible for designing and implementing training programmes for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced players, as well as overseeing fixtures, camps and tours.
The incumbent should motivate and inspire players to reach their full potential and are keen and able to work collaboratively with schools and academies whilst embracing the values and vision of Aldar Education.
Responsibilities:
Main Duties:

• Develops and implements a comprehensive training programme for the various basketball teams, including physical conditioning, skill development drills, and team strategy sessions.
• Works with Aldar Education and the Head of Sport within the Aldar Education schools and academies to schedule appropriate training sessions, fixtures and camps.
• Makes effective use of facilities available, including at Aldar Education schools and academies.
• Practices established safety procedures at all times in line with Aldar Education, the individual schools' safeguarding policies, and risk assessment for basketball.
• Collaborates with other coaches and staff members to develop a comprehensive athletic development programme for individuals, if requested.
• Growing participation and enrolment in basketball programs.
• Launching new events, camps, and academies.
• Enhancing the reputation and reach of Aldar Education's sports offerings.
• Building partnerships that can lead to new revenue streams.

Specific Duties:

• Evaluates the progress of each player and provides feedback to schools and individuals to improve the player's performance.
• Compiles registers of session attendance and communicate session details to schools as appropriate.
• Delivers fun & progressive scheduled school sessions.
• Develops activities to increase student participation across age groups and abilities.
• Sets up Fixtures, Leagues & tournaments in consultation with Aldar Education sports leads.
• Proposes a strategy and then oversees elite player development, in consultation with Aldar Education.
• Delivers Holiday Camps and plans and presents tours, as required by schools and Aldar Education.
• Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, including but not limited to, completing safeguarding training as required, and ensuring any safeguarding updates issued by Aldar Education are read and understood.
• Understands and complies with procedures and legislation relating to confidentiality.
• Other duties as reasonably assigned.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:

• Internationally recognised NBA-sanctioned coaching of children and refereeing qualifications

Minimum Experience:

• At least 5 years' experience in basketball coaching preferable.

• Previous experience working with students whom English is not their first language

• Ability to think strategically.
