Bar Waiter (Cocktail Server)
Overview:
A Bar Waiter specializes in serving beverages, primarily alcoholic drinks, to guests seated at the bar or at tables in a bar/lounge area. They have a strong knowledge of cocktails, beers, and wines and provide a high level of customer service in a often fast-paced and social environment.
Key Responsibilities:

• Take drink orders from guests at the bar or in the lounge area.
• Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests.
• Prepare simple drinks and mix cocktails (in some establishments, this is the Bartender's role).
• Check identification to verify legal drinking age.
• Process payments and handle a cash drawer.
• Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including washing glassware and wiping down surfaces.
• Monitor guest intoxication levels and follow responsible alcohol service protocols.
• Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner to create a welcoming atmosphere.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Previous experience as a bar waiter, bartender, or server.
• Extensive knowledge of drink recipes and bar menu items.
• Must meet legal age requirements for serving alcohol.
• Certification in responsible alcohol service (e.g., TIPS, ServSafe Alcohol) is often required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale (POS) system.
