Job Description
Job Summary:
The Bar Back is a crucial support role in the bar and restaurant industry, ensuring smooth bar operations by assisting bartenders with stocking, cleaning, and maintaining the bar area. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Stocking & Inventory Support
- Restock liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, and bar supplies.
- Ensure ice bins are filled and readily available.
- Replace empty kegs and CO2 tanks as needed.
- Assist with inventory counts and notify management of low stock.
- Prepare the bar before opening (cutting fruit, refilling condiments, organizing glassware).
- Keep the bar area clean, including wiping down surfaces and removing empty bottles.
- Ensure glassware is polished and readily available.
- Clean spills and maintain a sanitary workspace.
- Retrieve bottles, supplies, and ice for bartenders during service.
- Assist with simple drink preparation (e.g., pouring beer, basic cocktails) if permitted.
- Collect and wash dirty glassware and bar tools.
- Provide water, napkins, or other basic requests when bartenders are busy.
- Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor with guests.
- Help clear empty glasses and bottles from bar tops and tables.
