Our Client
Our client is an International financial institution looking for a Backup and Storage engineer to join their Cloud engineer team.
Your Responsibilities
- You have overall responsibility for the implementation and configuration of all tools used for Data Protection: NetBackup, Data Domain, ECS, Cybervault
- You will work in close cooperation with the cloud architect to make sure the system setup and configuration is aligned to the architecture and designs
- You are responsible for delivering core Backup and Storage support, engineering & development working within Data Centre Cloud Engineer/Data Protection Engineer team
- You will participate and be involved in all aspects of backup & storage support, strategy, development, engineering, and project work
Your Qualifications
- Skills in NetBackup version 8.2/8.3 GUI and command line utilities for administration and reporting
- Experience in design, implementation, and maintenance of large-scale Storage and backup infrastructure and troubleshooting.
- Extensive experience with Storage Lifecycle Policies and Opscenter
- Extensive experience with Netbackup Database agents, specifically MSSQL, Exchange and Sybase
- Extensive experience of system backup and recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery
- Extensive experience with design and administration of EMC Data Domain, ECS using GUI/CLI and Cybervault /Cybersense
- Excellent skills in backup virtualized workloads with demonstrable experience and solution approaches such as virtual data center, VMware vSphere vMotion, and dynamic resource scheduling.
- Experience with central authentication (LDAP/AD) and security
- Experience of Red Hat, Suse, Ventos, Ubuntu, and other Linux or BSO based operating systems and the ability to automate and script within these
- Experience designing, configuring, upgrading and troubleshooting various SAN/NAS/Object storage technologies.
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems and management tools (SCCM, SCOM, etc)
- Knowledge required for REST API, Ansible.
- Knowledge of systems capacity and performance management and tuning
- Knowledge of storage replication options and capabilities at the frame, volume, or application level
- Experience in developing and maintaining documentation
- Understanding of modern IT production data center and internet (ISP/ASP) hosting operations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Flexibility along with the ability to work under pressure and as a team
