B2b & Fix Architect (e) Mi

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Job Description

Axian Telecom, Dubai
About the job opportunity
The B2B & Fix Architect at Axian Telecom is responsible for designing and optimizing technology solutions that power the company's Business-to-Business (B2B) services and Fixed (FTTx) offerings. Reporting to the IT Business Partner Director, Consumer, this role works closely with cross-functional teams, including commercial (B2B sales), network operations (FTTx deployment), and IT (infrastructure, security, and application teams) to ensure robust, scalable, and cost-effective solutions. By translating business needs into practical architectures, the B2B & Fix Architect enables Axian Telecom to deliver high-quality services to enterprise and fixed-line customers across diverse markets.
Mission:
The mission of the B2B & Fix Architect is to align Axian Telecom's enterprise-focused and FTTx-related business requirements with cutting-edge, integrated technology designs. By creating flexible architectures for B2B and fixed-line services (including fiber broadband), this role champions innovation, service excellence, and long-term scalability, ensuring Axian Telecom continues to meet evolving market demands and retains a competitive edge.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
Solution Architecture & Design
Requirements Analysis:
Collaborate with B2B commercial teams and FTTx stakeholders to gather technical and business requirements, translating them into comprehensive architecture blueprints.
End-to-End Design: Develop solution architectures across all layers-network, application, security, and data-for B2B services (MPLS, SD-WAN, enterprise connectivity) and fixed access solutions (FTTx).
Integration & Compatibility: Ensure compatibility with Axian Telecom's broader IT ecosystem (e.g., BSS, OSS, CRM) and adopt standardized patterns (APIs, microservices) where applicable.
FTTx & B2B Service Evolution
Network & Infrastructure: Partner with network engineering teams to design reliable, future-proof fiber (FTTx) architectures, supporting high-capacity enterprise and residential fixed services.
Product & Platform Development: Provide architectural guidance for new B2B offerings (cloud connectivity, managed services, IoT solutions), balancing performance, security, and cost considerations.
Scalability & Performance: Conduct capacity planning and performance tuning for both B2B and fixed infrastructure, ensuring consistent service quality as demand grows.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
Cross-Functional Liaison: Work with commercial, operations, and IT teams to align service roadmaps, budget requirements, and go-to-market strategies.
Vendor & Partner Coordination: Engage with technology vendors and third-party integrators, evaluating solutions, negotiating technical scopes, and validating service-level commitments.
Governance: Participate in architecture reviews (with the Head of IT Architecture and other architects) to ensure alignment with Axian Telecom's enterprise standards and security policies.
Innovation & Best Practices
Emerging Technologies: Stay current on advancements in fiber networking (GPON, XGS-PON, NGPON2), enterprise connectivity (SD-WAN, VPN), and service orchestration, recommending strategic adoptions.
Continuous Improvement: Document and share lessons learned, leveraging pilot projects or proofs-of-concept to refine architectural patterns and minimize technical debt.
Security & Compliance: Ensure designs incorporate necessary safeguards for data protection, lawful intercept, and regulatory compliance in line with local market regulations.
Reporting & KPI Monitoring
Architecture Documentation: Maintain updated architecture diagrams, technical guidelines, and decision logs for B2B and fixed-line services.
Key Performance Indicators: Track metrics (e.g., network throughput, service uptime, latency, customer satisfaction) to measure solution effectiveness, reporting to the IT Business Partner Director and relevant stakeholders.
Risk Management: Identify and escalate risks (e.g., capacity bottlenecks, vendor lock-in, security vulnerabilities) to proactively address challenges before they impact service quality.
Qualification, Skills, Knowledge & Competencies:
Education & Certifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master's/MBA is a plus).
Certifications: Credentials in network engineering (e.g., Cisco, Juniper), cloud architecture, or project management (PMP) are advantageous. Familiarity with TOGAF or similar frameworks also adds value.
Professional Background
Telecom & Networking: 7+ years of experience designing or implementing B2B or fixed-line (FTTx) solutions in a large-scale telecom or service provider environment.
Systems Integration: Demonstrated ability to integrate new services into existing OSS/BSS ecosystems, working with cross-functional teams for end-to-end deployment.
Vendor & Partnership Management: Proven track record in selecting and overseeing vendors or integrators for network and enterprise connectivity solutions.
Technical & Domain Knowledge
B2B Services:
Proficiency in enterprise connectivity (MPLS, SD-WAN, VPN), managed services, and advanced network technologies (QoS, traffic engineering).
Fixed Broadband: Expertise in FTTx architectures (GPON, XGS-PON, etc.), outside plant design, and service activation workflows.
Integration & Security: Familiarity with API integration, microservices architecture, zero-trust security principles, and data protection regulations.
Leadership & Soft Skills
Strategic Thinking: Ability to balance short-term commercial demands with a long-term, scalable architecture vision for B2B and fixed-line offerings.
Collaboration & Influence: Skilled at working with commercial teams, network ops, vendors, and IT colleagues to build consensus around architectural decisions.
Communication: Adept at explaining technical options to non-technical audiences, crafting strong business cases for new network or service investments.
Language Skills
Fluency in English is required.
Proficiency in French (or other regional languages) is highly beneficial, given Axian Telecom's pan-African operations.
Key Success Factors
End-to-End Service Quality: Architectures that support reliable, high-speed connectivity for enterprise customers and fixed-line users, maximizing uptime and satisfaction.
Scalable & Future-Ready Solutions: Designs that accommodate evolving technologies (e.g., SDN, NFV) and increasing bandwidth demands in B2B and FTTx segments.
Seamless Integration: Effective collaboration with OSS/BSS, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure new services roll out smoothly, with minimal disruptions.
Innovation & Cost Efficiency: Continuously seeking new solutions and optimizing existing architectures to balance performance, reliability, and total cost of ownership.
Cross-Team Synergy: Successful coordination with the IT Business Partner Director, Consumer, as well as other architects and domain leads, ensuring unified product roadmaps and architecture consistency.
