Position Overview
The Azure Data Engineer will build enterprise-grade data platforms for banking clients in Dubai, designing medallion architecture, robust ETL pipelines, and analytics-ready datasets using Azure services and Databricks.
Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement medallion architecture with bronze, silver, and gold layers
• Develop secure, scalable ETL and ELT pipelines using Python and SQL
• Engineer data ingestion from core banking and third-party sources with quality checks
• Build Delta Lake tables, optimize performance, and manage cost on Azure
• Define data models, star schemas, and marts for BI and AI workloads
• Perform data mapping, profiling, lineage, and reconciliation across systems
• Implement CI-CD for notebooks and jobs; automate testing and deployments
• Enforce data governance, cataloging, and privacy controls aligned to standards
• Monitor pipelines, troubleshoot failures, and tune jobs for reliability and SLAs
• Deliver documentation, runbooks, and knowledge transfer to operations

Candidate Requirements

• 10 plus years in data engineering with hands-on ETL pipeline delivery
• 10 plus years working with banking data and domain processes
• Strong data mapping and data profiling expertise
• Advanced Python and SQL for data processing and validation
• Proven delivery of end-to-end data warehouse or data platform projects
• Certification in Azure data lake or data warehouse technologies
• Proficiency in one or more of Java or Scala is a plus
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure services for storage, compute, security
• Hands-on with Databricks for big data processing, ML, and advanced analytics
• Deep knowledge of data modeling, database design, and warehousing concepts
• Familiarity with data integration tools and streaming or batch ingestion
• Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices
