Job Description



JOB PURPOSE:

The Group Reporting & tax team comprises of Group reporting teams (Financial & regulatory), Financial control and tax team. The unit falls under the Group Finance department and reports to the CFO.

Key priorities of this role under Group Financial Reporting team include:

Assist in the Preparation of Group's financials on a monthly, quarterly & annual financial statement and related disclosures, notes to financial statements etc

Assist in the preparation of the variance analysis, reconciliations of key BS items like interbranch, retained earnings, investments, Loans, deposits, due from Banks, due to banks, foreign currency transactions reserve etc

Assist in engaging with various stakeholders during the month end closure process and deals with the external auditors to meet their audit related requirements.

Assist in liaising overseas branches and subsidiaries for the of their quarterly and annual review

Assist in fulfilling the daily financial accounting function and financial reporting tasks.

The candidate will be responsible for providing support for various activities of the financial reporting team but also to provide assistance to the various functions with respect to their requirements with financial reporting team.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

To provide assistance in the preparation and processing of the top side adjustments in coordination with various overseas branches and various stakeholders. To undertake the preparation of the key adjustments required at Group level like GAAP adjustments, standard adjustments etc.

To undertake review of month end adjustments and provide assistance to Local finance team/IT and various stakeholders to reduce manual adjustments.

To undertake review of month end numbers and perform various reconciliation like foreign currency translation reserve, retained earnings, Impairment numbers, Intercompany reconciliations etc .

Perform GL to deal wise reconciliation for various BS line items like Loans, deposits, investments, due from banks, due to banks, repo, reverse repo, derivatives etc.

Assist in various analysis on G&A expenses, internal interest income, fees etc and provide commentaries wherever required.

To configure and maintain the various rules like intercompany elimination etc in reporting system.

To ensure consolidation of books and required adjustments at Group level are passed on a monthly basis.

Assist in updating various components of the financial packs which is circulated to senior management.

Responsible for preparing XBRL workings and resolve all KPMG queries with respect to XBRL submission.

Prepare and update key disclosures and notes of the financial statements for quarterly and yearly financials.

Provide assistance in resolving various External auditors' queries on a timely basis.

Provide assistance in implementation of accounting policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of assigned department activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements, fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service

Review of English and Arabic Financials and provide assistance in reviewing the quarterly and yearly disclosures related to other departments

Keep abreast of technical developments relevant to the new accounting standards in order to provide support for new accounting standard requirements and various adhoc accounting advices.

Perform various adhoc analysis required for the senior management and other units.

To develop standard reports and dashboards using tools like Power BI.

Review existing systems/processes/procedures to proactively identify areas of improvements.

Provide assistance in completion in RCSA/KRI activities for the FR unit.

FRAMEWORKS, BOUNDARIES, & DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY:

Functions within the framework and boundaries of Group policies as well as overall organisational and governance frameworks.

Authorised to take decisions as per the approved authorisation matrix.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

A university degree in a Business, Finance or Accounting in addition to professional certificate.

Qualified Professional preferred or 4-5 years' experience in a Financial Reporting Function

A working knowledge of banking operations and accounting. Knowledge of MS Office is necessary. Knowledge of other software's used in Business Applications is advantageous

Ability to communicate with a variety of divisions within the bank, respond to the dynamic nature of reporting function whilst being able to meet daily deliverables.
