  • Review, analyze, recommend, and approve credit proposals in line with the approved credit policies and delegation of authorities, procedures, and market dynamics to produce high quality of credit assessment memos for underwriting purposes.
  • Approve credit applications for a value up to AED 15 million (TBA/Part of their delegated authority)
  • Given the High Net worth and sensitive nature of the clientele worth of more than AED 100Mio and above individually, actively engage with the senior business counterparts (Area Managers/Business Heads etc) to ensure that the proposed facility is adequately structured to meet the clients’ expectations within the bank’s underwriting standards.
  • Building up a client servicing culture by ensuring relationship with the front line and peers department are well maintained and engaged
  • Adhere to & comply with departmental policies, standard operating procedures and practices so that the work is carried out in a smooth & methodical manner.
  • Exhibit consistency with organization’s values and ethics at all times to demonstrate a value driven culture within the bank.
  • Contribute towards continuous improvement and sustainability of policies, systems, process and methods in line with changing needs and requirements so as to efficiently carry out the duties.
  • Have in-depth understanding of regulatory and internal real estate credit policy.
  • Exhibits good communication & writing skills when preparing & submitting credit proposals to approving authorities within the Bank.
  • Possesses a wide skill range & experience in Real Estate Finance, Corporate Finance, Credit management, Relationship management, Interpretation of Financial Analysis and Credit Evaluation.
  • Analyse Client’s financial statements - Bank statements and /or Audited financial Statements/Rental Roll Report/ Collateral Details etc, investigate client’s credit history/credit reports/ system checks to meet bank’s lending standards.
  • To work out the credit rating of the customer as per the bank’s credit rating portal.
  • Ensure completeness & correctness of documentation in order to avoid fraud and/or delinquency in the future.
  • In depth analysis of all loan related borrower’s/Property financial ratios like turnover ratios, debt service coverage ratio to ensure error free underwriting and ensuring that the loan amount proposed is in line with TM-RAC.
  • Review & analyse restructure requests given by the existing loan customers and recommend in line with the bank’s policy/TM-RAC.
  • Review deferral/waiver requests given by the existing customers and recommend the same keeping in mind the credit risk involved.
  • Review and approve loan applications and service requests efficiently and within the agreed SLA’s.
  • Core Relationship Tasks:
  • Manage a portfolio of about 200 accounts, with a size of AED 3 billion under lending in REC
  • Accompany the business counterparts to client meetings and to develop better understanding of the client and the proposed credit facility.
  • Co-ordinate with different counterparts (Business, CAD & Collections) to obtain required support / feedback on the existing portfolio.
  • To work in co-ordination with the monitoring team and take up with business in case of noncompliance of terms and conditions.
  • To be able to work in pressure conditions without compromising on the credit underwriting quality.
  • To perform any additional Job-Related tasks/projects as and when assigned by Line Manager.
  • FRAMEWORKS, BOUNDARIES, & DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY:
  • To operate within the framework of the group Credit team – Consumer Banking and the policies applicable to it and to bank in general.
  • To review the excess rental release request of the clients after reviewing the rental register and building savings account.
  • Decision making authority is as per the delegation matrix. (AED 15 million Credit Approvals anticipated)

Qualifications

Minimum Education required: Minimum Bachelor’s degree preferably in Finance/Banking/ Commerce. Minimum Experience:
  • 3 years’ relevant experience in credit and or banking experience.
  • Advanced financial and credit analysis knowledge and skills
  • Time-management skills.
  • Communication & interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate with various internal customers, being several coverage counter parties, credit administration team…. etc.
  • Detail-oriented team player with a strong understanding of Real Estate markets and credit underwriting skills.

Additional Information

Conduct in-depth credit assessment of credit applications seeking financing for large residential and/or commercial real estate, this portfolio is consisting of 700 plus accounts with a portfolio value of AED 12 billion and growing. Approve credit applications where appropriate delegation of authority is provided The key purpose is to determine whether the borrower (mostly sensitive ultra-high net worth clients), is eligible for financing and the requested credit facility is in line with the bank’s risk appetite and Target Market Risk Acceptance Criteria (TM-RAC).
