The Denter is responsible for carrying out high-quality body repair work on vehicles that have been damaged in accidents or require panel replacement. The role involves dent removal, panel beating, alignment, welding, and preparation for painting to restore the vehicle to manufacturer standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect vehicles for structural damage and determine the extent of repair required.
Perform dent removal, panel beating, and reshaping of damaged parts using appropriate tools and techniques.
Remove and replace damaged panels, doors, fenders, bumpers, and other body components.
Use welding equipment to join metal parts as needed.
Ensure proper alignment of panels, doors, and frames.
Fill small dents or imperfections with body filler and sand them to a smooth finish.
Collaborate with painters and other technicians to ensure timely completion of work.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.
Follow all safety protocols and manufacturer repair guidelines.
Report any additional damage or concerns to the Body Shop Supervisor.
Accurately complete job cards and repair documentation.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Denter / Body Repair Technician in an automotive workshop.
Ability to work with various tools such as hammers, dollies, welders, and body fillers.
Knowledge of vehicle body structures and repair techniques.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
Ability to interpret repair orders and technical drawings.
Physical strength and stamina for manual work.
Team player with good communication skills.
Qualifications:
High school certificate or equivalent (preferred).
Vocational training or certification in automotive body repair (preferred).
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.
