Key Responsibilities:1. Team Leadership & Staff Management
Supervise and mentor body shop technicians, painters, and support staff.
Assign jobs based on technician skill levels and shop workload.
Conduct performance reviews and provide training or upskilling opportunities.
Enforce safety procedures and shop policies.
2. Workflow & Operations Management
Schedule repair work and manage production timelines.
Monitor repair progress to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and materials.
Oversee parts ordering and inventory control.
3. Quality Control
Inspect work at various stages of the repair process.
Ensure all repairs meet OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and insurance standards.
Handle rework or customer complaints with professionalism.
4. Customer Service & Communication
Act as a point of contact for escalated customer concerns.
Explain repair processes, timelines, and costs to customers.
Coordinate with insurance adjusters for approvals and estimates.
5. Administrative Duties
Manage job tickets, repair orders, and documentation.
Monitor KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) such as cycle time, efficiency, and profitability.
Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
Skills and Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in an auto body repair environment.
Strong knowledge of collision repair processes, paint systems, and estimation software (e.g., CCC ONE, Audatex).
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Technical certifications (I-CAR, ASE) are a plus.
