: Automobile Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Worker
This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within various types of automotive vehicles and sometimes related infrastructure (e.g., service bay equipment). The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in automotive systems, a meticulous approach to diagnostics, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Systems:
Perform diagnostics, repair, and maintenance on engine components, transmission systems, braking systems (including ABS and hydraulic components), steering systems, and suspension systems.
Execute routine services, including oil changes, fluid flushes, belt replacements, and tire rotations.
Electrical Systems:
Diagnose and repair complex electrical faults, including issues with the Engine Control Unit (ECU), wiring harnesses, sensors, actuators, and communication buses (e.g., CAN bus).
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot lighting systems, ignition systems, charging systems (alternators/batteries), and vehicle entertainment/infotainment systems.
Utilize advanced diagnostic tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, scan tools) to trace and rectify electrical problems.
Plumbing/Fluid Systems:
Repair and maintain fuel delivery systems (pumps, injectors, lines), ensuring pressure and flow integrity.
Service and troubleshoot HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems, including refrigerant handling, compressor repair, and leak detection.
Maintain and repair cooling systems (radiators, hoses, water pumps) and various hydraulic systems (power steering, clutch hydraulics).
General Duties:
Accurately document all repair and maintenance work performed, including time taken, parts used, and system status.
Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, industry regulations, and environmental guidelines (e.g., proper disposal of fluids and hazardous materials).
Communicate clearly with service advisors and customers regarding vehicle issues and recommended repairs.
Required Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Completion of an accredited Automotive Technology or MEP-related technical training program is highly preferred.
Experience: Minimum of [Specify Number, e.g., 3] years of experience working as an Automotive Technician, specializing in both mechanical and electrical systems.
Certifications:
Valid state/country-specific Driver's License is required.

EPA Section 609 Certification for handling refrigerants (if HVAC work is required).
Skills and Competencies
Technical Proficiency: Comprehensive knowledge of automotive mechanical principles, electrical theory, and fluid dynamics.
Diagnostic Acumen: Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex wiring diagrams, service manuals, and diagnostic codes (DTCs).
Tool Usage: Proficient in the safe and effective use of specialized automotive tools, equipment, and diagnostic software.
Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive physical tasks.
Communication: Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
Working Conditions
This position primarily works in a well-equipped automotive repair shop or service bay.
Work involves exposure to noise, fumes, dirt, grease, and varying temperatures.
