The Automation Electrical Technician/Engineer is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical and automation systems in industrial environments. This role involves working with PLCs, control panels, and electrical components to ensure seamless operation and system reliability. The Technician/Engineer will collaborate with engineers and field teams to support automation projects, conduct testing and commissioning, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Install, wire, and configure automation and electrical control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and control systems.
Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on electrical and automation systems to minimise downtime.
Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of control panels, motor drives, sensors, and instrumentation.
Assist in the commissioning of new automation equipment, ensuring proper functionality and integration.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations in all electrical and automation work.
Work closely with engineers and project teams to implement automation solutions and system upgrades.
Test and calibrate electrical and control systems to ensure optimal performance.
Document work performed, including system modifications, repairs, and preventative maintenance activities.
Support software updates and configuration changes in PLC and automation systems as needed.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; an associate's degree or technical certification in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field is preferred.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in industrial automation technologies, including PLC, sensors, drives, switchgear, and control systems.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical manuals, and system diagrams.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in industrial automation systems.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or on-call shifts, as required.
Valid UAE driving license.
