Responsibilities:
Main Responsibilities:

  • To provide a high level of AV technical support to all staff, pupils, and external users in the school's performance venues, including assistance in productions, academic classes, lectures, exam performances and co-curricular.
  • Responsible for the installation, relocation, configuration, and maintenance of school AV / Lighting Devices.
  • Responsible for the on-site AV Support - Classroom, Auditoriums, Drama Studios etc.
  • Maintain details configuration of AV systems.
  • To provide technical support to teaching staff and classes
  • To adopt a flexible style to tackle a range of routine duties in the TV/Radio Studios, Auditorium & Music Labs Specific Duties
  • To manage and maintain all audio-visual resources (sound, lighting, projection, control desks, digital equipment etc.)
Specific Duties:
  • To prepare and set up all audio-visual resources for performances and events
  • To ensure all resources are catalogued, compliant and stored safely when not in use
  • To arrange external maintenance of audio-visual resources where necessary, ensuring that repairs are carried out in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • To liaise with the Health & Safety Manager to ensure that all technical aspects of performances within the school comply with appropriate regulations
  • To supervise or personally run the audio-visual components of all School productions, academic classes, examination recordings and other performance events as requested
  • To provide audio-visual technical support to other School departments as necessary
  • To develop and maintain links with professional bodies and complete ongoing training as appropriate to offer teaching staff training support with technical equipment
  • To assist with rigging and plotting of lighting and sound and set design and construction for large productions as required
  • To provide a high level of technical support to all staff, pupils, and external users in the school's performance venues, including assistance in productions, academic classes, lectures, exam performances and co-curricular
  • Work closely with other staff in information technology department to provide quality AV support to users.
  • Responsible to maintain AV Asset inventory at all the schools.
  • Ensure that the AV operations meet the performance SLA targets of the IT department
  • Manage the complete lifecycle of end user technology assets from acquisition to disposal of AV hardware in coordination with corporate procurement.
  • L1, L2 and L3 support for the Interactive White Board (IWB) and projectors
  • Provide IT weekly status reports to Manager - IT operations
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent.
Minimum Experience:
  • 6 plus years of experience in an AV support position in a large company/School
Job Specific Knowledge & Skills:
  • Extensive knowledge of AV / Stage Lighting systems and related Applications.
  • Knowledge of IT Service Desk procedures.
  • Thorough understanding of ITIL or similar service delivery systems
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to establish user trust and confidence.
  • Familiarity with computers and IP Networking Systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of modern filming and sound mixing techniques
  • Bachelor's degree in sound engineering or a similar field.
  • Previous experience working as an AV technician.
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Proficient in MS office & ICT applications.
  • Should also have a meticulous attention to detail, especially about health and safety.
  • Experience of working with children and/or TV/radio production would be an advantage
  • In-depth knowledge of sound, video, and lighting equipment.
