Job Description

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Provide technical support for audio-visual (AV) systems, including projectors, interactive displays, sound systems, microphones, video conferencing tools, and control systems. Responsible for setup, operation, monitoring, and troubleshooting AV equipment for varu. Ability to perform routine maintenance, testing, and calibration of AV equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose technical issues quickly and implement effective solutions with minimal disruption to users. Ensure proper cable management, connectivity, and integration of AV equipment with IT systems and networks. Support live events, meetings, and training sessions, including pre-event setup, live monitoring, and post-event breakdown. Maintain detailed records of AV configurations, issues, and resolutions for documentation and knowledge sharing. Collaborate with IT teams and third-party vendors for escalations, repairs, and equipment upgrades. Ensure AV systems meet customer standards for quality, usability, and accessibility. Adhere to customer standards of professionalism, security, and safety when operating AV systems and interacting with end-users. Maintain punctuality, regular attendance, and responsiveness to requests for support. Demonstrate adaptability to new AV technologies and willingness to undergo training for evolving platforms and systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Set up, configure, and operate AV equipment for daily activities, events, and official functions. Provide first-level troubleshooting and support for AV hardware (displays, projectors, sound systems, microphones, control panels). Provide support for conferencing and collaboration platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams,WebEx, etc.). Work closely with teachers, staff, and administrators to ensure smooth use of AV equipment in classrooms and nurseries. Escalate unresolved or complex AV issues to higher-level technical staff or external vendors while ensuring timely resolution. Ensure AV equipment is available, tested, and functional before classes, training, or events begin. Provide training or orientation to staff on basic usage of AV equipment, ensuring proper handling and care. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and safeguarding guidelines when working around children, staff, and visitors. Participate in periodic inventory audits of AV equipment and assist in lifecycle management of devices.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Minimum of two years' experience in audio-visual support, IT support, or a related technical role is mandatory. A bachelor's degree or three-year diploma in IT, Media Technology, or a relevant subject is mandatory. Industry-recognized AV certifications (e.g., CTS - Certified Technology Specialist, Crestron, Extron, or similar) will be an added advantage. Demonstrated experience with installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of classroom/event AV equipment. Strong communication skills with the ability to guide non-technical users in operating AV systems. Proficiency in English and Arabic is preferred.
