The Asst. Pearl Farm Manager oversees the daily operations, production, and maintenance of the pearl farm. This includes managing staff, ensuring the health and growth of oysters, optimizing pearl production, maintaining equipment and marine infrastructure, and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations. The asst.manager is responsible for achieving production targets while maintaining sustainable aquaculture practices and high-quality pearl yields.
Key Responsibilities Farm Operations & Production
Plan, supervise, and coordinate all pearl farming activities including seeding, culturing, cleaning, and harvesting.
Monitor oyster health, growth rates, and environmental conditions to ensure optimal farming outcomes.
Oversee daily farm routines, including feeding, cleaning, and maintenance of cages, rafts, and hatchery systems.
Maintain accurate records of oyster batches, mortality, and pearl yields.
Coordinate seeding schedules with pearl technicians and ensure quality control throughout the process.
Staff Management
Supervise and train pearl farm staff, divers, and technical personnel.
Prepare shift schedules and ensure efficient allocation of workforce and resources.
Implement and enforce operational safety and hygiene standards.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing staff development and training.
Quality Control & Environmental Management
Ensure all farming practices comply with environmental and sustainability standards.
Monitor water quality, temperature, salinity, and other environmental parameters regularly.
Implement biosecurity and disease prevention measures.
Inspect pearls during harvesting to maintain grading and quality benchmarks.
Maintenance & Equipment
Oversee maintenance of farm infrastructure, vessels, equipment, and seeding tools.
Ensure regular servicing and repair of boats, engines, rafts, and cages.
Manage farm inventory and procurement of materials and consumables.
Reporting & Administration
Prepare and submit periodic production and performance reports to management.
Manage farm budgets, expenses, and procurement in line with company policies.
Maintain proper documentation for audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Aquaculture, Marine Biology, Fisheries Science, or related field.
Minimum
5-8 years of experience
in aquaculture operations, preferably in
pearl farming or mollusk culture
.
Strong knowledge of marine ecology, oyster biology, and aquaculture systems.
Proven experience managing teams and marine operations.
Competence in diving operations and boating is an advantage.

Hands-on knowledge of pearl cultivation techniques.
Ability to work in offshore or remote environments.
