Job Description

Telum Media creates connections between the media and public relations sectors using our industry-focused online media contacts database, events, news and communications channels.

Our media teams, located across the Asia Pacific region and in the United Arab Emirates, work diligently to ensure our media database is updated with accurate and relevant information.

They also create and obtain sign-off on industry-relevant content by reaching out to journalists, publishing short and long-form content, and support calls for help with our Media Requests service.

All this helps public relations firms and in-house communication teams connect with the right journalists and media outlets at the right time.

We are looking for an

Associate Executive

to join our

Middle East Media Team

based in Dubai where you will work alongside knowledgeable and professional colleagues.

What you will do:

Maintain the accuracy and relevancy of the journalist and media outlet database in compliance with Data Protection laws

Build, update and verify journalist and media outlet profiles

Accurately and competently action lead generation activities to identify relevant database updates and content opportunities

Develop an understanding of the local journalist and media landscape

Constantly adhere to Telum Media's data policies and methodologies

Develop editorial skills necessary for meaningful engagement with journalists to enhance Telum's content offering

Develop the confidence and skills required to engage with journalists over the phone, through email and / or online

Develop the confidence and skills required to meet journalists and / or host journalist meetings

What we are looking for:

Knowledge of or a willingness to learn about the local media industry

Determined, self-motivated, with a proactive attitude to learning

Optimistic and energetic, enjoys working in a Team environment

Enthusiastic about maintaining standards and great attention to detail

Proven ability to multi-task and work to deadlines

Excellent standard written and spoken English and Arabic

Excellent data entry and research skills

Computer literate [MS Office]

Good communication skills
