The Associate Cost Controls Specialist will assist the Project Controls team in all activities with particular emphasis on cost and schedule, progress and technical issues. The Specialist will achieve accurate and credible forecasts, consolidate cost data and progress data, analyses and report trends, adjust project budgets and forecasts in line with actuals and progress. The position will report directly to the Cost Controls Manager.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities: Is responsible for setting up and maintaining communication with the disciplines in the Project team with the purpose of collecting as well as supplying information about the duties assigned to him/her. Assists the cost team in setting up internal and external cost reporting, forecasting and change management systems. The goal is to provide the best information to project management for timely decision-making and corrective action. Under supervision be able to prepare preliminary cost / quantity analysis, assist in setting-up and maintaining a change management system Essential Qualifications and Education: Junior Engineer with 1-3 years of experience in Oil & Gas Construction - preferably Storage/Tank Construction. Tertiary engineering (preferably Mechanical) qualifications or suitable experience. Ability to analytically approach problems. Ability to communicate at all levels of the project organization. Must have good organization skills. Must be able to work in the field with crews. Excellent Excel, & other MS products. Primavera and scheduling software experience. Understand contract requirements Load the control estimate quantities into the Project Management System progress manager Coordinate quantity information update into the Project Management System based on craft quantity take-offs from IFC drawings Update weekly progress from the crafts in the Project Management System and calculate the earned % complete Review quantity trend information from engineering Provide earned/actual data and Productive Factor weekly Include approved Contract Change Notice (CCN's), Quantity adjustment, and quantity adjustment Internal Impact Notice (IIN's) into the progress base.
