Associate Building Surveyor

Inspire selection is working with a dynamic, client focused, independent firm of Chartered Surveyors, Project Managers and Engineers who use innovative thinking and technology in delivering consultancy services on a range of projects in the Middle East. They pride themselves on delivering exceptional client service and solutions.

The are seeking a pro-active and experienced Associate Building Surveyor who would want to grow with the firm, take ownership of tasks and be an integral member of the dynamic and supportive team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the company\'s success by providing expert advice and services related to building construction, maintenance, and development. They will be responsible for conducting surveys, inspections, and assessments, as well as preparing detailed reports and recommendations together with elements of Project Management services.

Responsibilities

• Building Surveys: Conduct thorough building surveys, inspections, and evaluations to assess the condition of structures, identifying defects, and providing comprehensive reports
• Project Management: Oversee and manage construction and renovation projects, ensuring compliance with building regulations, codes, and industry standards
• Client Consultation: Consult with clients to understand their requirements, provide expert advice, and offer solutions tailored to their needs
• Technical Reports: Prepare detailed technical reports, specifications, and drawings, outlining findings and recommendations for clients and stakeholders
• Compliance and Regulations: Stay abreast of building regulations, planning regulations, and health and safety standards to ensure all projects adhere to legal requirements
• Contract Administration: Administer contracts, manage budgets, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget constraints
• Building Pathology: Diagnose and analyse building defects, providing expert insights and recommendations for remediation
• Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other professionals within the company, such as architects, engineers, and project managers, to deliver integrated and cohesive services
• Bidding / Business Development: Prepare client fee proposals and build/ nurture trusted client relationships with the values of providing high quality professional services

Requirements

• MRICS chartership
• Bachelor\'s degree in Building Surveying or related field
• Min 8 years proven experience as a Building Surveyor
• Strong knowledge of building regulations, planning regulations, and health and safety standards
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical information to clients and team members
• Proficient in using relevant surveying software and tools
• Strong organisational and project management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team and a drive to grow with the firm and act as a trusted no. 2 to the senior leadership team
• Mentor and manage junior staff
