Job description: Requisition Number: 23678BR Description: The Assistant Resident Engineer will support and working on projects associated with Stormwater & Drainage, Flood Alleviation, Wastewater Networks and Water distribution networks Pumping Station, Recycling Plant. This will involve undertaking investigations, planning, designing, tendering, contract administration and construction supervising & monitoring. The role will be based in Abu Dhabi. Key accountabilities for this position include but are not limited to:
  • Technical Delivery
xefx83x98 Assist the Resident Engineer in administering the operational functions of the day-to-day activities on the project with respect to utilities works. Interacting with contractor, sub-contractor, and laboratory & monitoring construction work on daily basis. xefx83x98 Co-ordinate with various government departments, contractors, consultants and public to facilitate progress and avoid delays. Coordinate his direct activities with the other engineers and members of the construction supervision team. xefx83x98 Maintain logs of project progress, handing-over and final accounts xefx83x98 Arrange progress meetings for various utilities with the service authorities representative, minute them and distribute the records as required. Chairs the meetings with the utilities agencies and any other meetings delegated by the Resident Engineer Utilities. xefx83x98 Assist the Resident Engineer in reviewing of shop drawings, design proposals, method statements and other activities including correspondence related to the utility section and prepare replies for the review of the Resident Engineer. xefx83x98 Demonstrated ability to prepare instructions, specifications, and reports and cost estimates. xefx83x98 Coordinate with the contractor engineers on scheduling and application of resources. xefx83x98 Direct, assist and monitor the performance of the inspectors and surveyors as applicable. xefx83x98 Review and approve Design document and construction plan and procedure. xefx83x98 Prepare / Assist in the preparation of Weekly and Monthly progress reports. Demonstrated ability to prepare instructions, specifications, and reports and cost estimates. xefx83x98 Keep necessary records and as-built records and take charge of the handing over of the utility works to the respective service authorities and assist the contractor to obtain necessary final clearance. xefx83x98 Identifying non-conforming works, generating reports and corrective actions, and coordinating responses. xefx83x98 Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
  • Collaboration and working as part of a team.
xefx83x98 Work in conjunction with engineers to solve project design problems, performing basic design calculations as required. xefx83x98 Conduct technical, feasibility studies and site investigations. xefx83x98 Liaison with teams working remotely from other parts of the world to facilitate the completion of tasks and projects. xefx83x98 Good communicator.
  • Client Service Management
xefx83x98 Internal and external client DM Infrastructure liaison xefx83x98 Ability to build and maintain lasting and positive relationships. xefx83x98 Experience in utility diversions and management.
  • Follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
xefx83x98 Complete all work in line with Stantec Core Values and in accordance with the Stantec Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures. xefx83x98 Design for safety, i.e., Construction Design Management.
  • Other duties as requested from time to time by the Resident Engineer.
Qualifications: The successful candidate must have a bachelor's degree in civil engineering with Eight (8) years of experience in experience in miscellaneous Drainage Work Projects.
