Job Summary:
The Department of Biotechnology in the School of Arts and Sciences at the American University of Ras al Khaimah (AURAK) seeks to hire a full-time faculty member at the Assistant Professor rank starting Fall 2024 (mid-August). Candidates for this position must hold a Ph.D. in Biotechnology or other related discipline. Prior successful teaching experience at the university level employing high-impact educational practices to promote active learning by students and experience in working effectively with globally diverse student populations are expected.:

The Department of Biotechnology in the School of Arts and Sciences at the American University of Ras al Khaimah (AURAK) seeks to hire a full-time faculty member at the Assistant Professor rank starting Fall 2024 (mid-August). Candidates for this position must hold a Ph.D. in Biotechnology or other related discipline. Prior successful teaching experience at the university level employing high-impact educational practices to promote active learning by students and experience in working effectively with globally diverse student populations are expected. Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Teaching undergraduate courses related to Biotechnology.
- Developing or continuing to advance an internationally recognized research program.
- Participating in Department, School of Arts and Sciences, and University committees.
- Participating in outreach activities, such as workshops and seminars.
- A doctoral degree in Biotechnology or any other related discipline, from an accredited institution of higher education.
- Effective oral and written English communication skills.
- Commitment to excellence in teaching, including the use of high-impact educational practices at the university level, and excellence in scholarship activities.
- Experience in working effectively with a diverse student population.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty from a variety of disciplines.
