Job Summary:

The Department of Biotechnology in the School of Arts and Sciences at the American University of Ras al Khaimah (AURAK) seeks to hire a full-time faculty member at the Assistant Professor rank starting Fall 2023 (mid-August). Candidates for this position must hold a Ph.D. in Forensic Science or other related discipline. Prior successful teaching experience at the university level employing high-impact educational practices to promote active learning by students and experience in working effectively with globally diverse student populations are expected. Primary Responsibilities Include:

• Teaching undergraduate courses related to Forensics, DNA Profiling, Genetics, Crime Scene Investigation and Molecular Biology.
• Developing or continuing to advance an internationally recognized research program.
• Participating in Department, School of Arts and Sciences, and University committees.
• Participating in outreach activities, such as workshops and seminars.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• A doctoral degree in Forensic Science, or any other related discipline, from an accredited institution of higher education.
• Effective oral and written English communication skills.
• Commitment to excellence in teaching, including the use of high-impact educational practices at the university level, and excellence in scholarship activities.
• Experience in working effectively with a diverse student population.
• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty from a variety of disciplines.
• Experience with professional accreditation requirements.
