Job Brief:

To monitor and manage the Container and RoRo operations of Messina Line. All standing instructions issued by the Head Office and Representative Office are to be followed. Cost Control measures are to be implemented, and processes are to be accordingly prepared. Negotiations with Feeder Operators, Port, and other 3rd party service providers, and claims. Manage the Operations team.

Job Responsibilities:

- Manage the department and control staff activity to ensure the Principals procedure and instructions are properly followed within specific required timing.

- Container stock handling is done in the best interest of the principal.

- Container repairs and maintenance control.

- Feeder operator agreements/control of the performance/invoices etc.

- Port Invoices and other operations related to invoice checking and acquiring credit notes for disputes.

- Vendor Invoice control.

- Local and regional logistics and coordination.

- Cargo claims handling.

- Submit Commercial Activity / Daily measuring of Freight revenue reports.

- For each vessel, submit a booking forecast for 10, 7, 5, and 3 days and the Final to be sent to HO Planning, vessel, and others.

- Transshipment container and RoRo control/management.

- Empty container monitoring and replenishment action plan for each vessel.

- Final loading report (Loading & Discharge summary) to HO after maintaining vessel sailing.

- Final Booking with Freight report.

- Build strong relations with Commercial Sales for proper Customer handling enabling the team to achieve Company and Principal targets.

- Build strong relationships and constant contact with the principal line and its customers.

- Control of various reports, instructions, and procedures from Principals / Regional Director.

- Check and approve debit notes for vendor payments (terminal, feeder, etc.).

- Submit monthly reports (empty storage, container repairs, feeder payments, and cargo claims).

- Look into logistics and operation-related matters and take control of the escalated issues from reporting lineup.

- Build and maintain proper line up for seamless functioning of the Operations Department.

Job Requirements:

- Bachelor\'s degree attested by UAE ministry.

- 6 to 7 years of experience in a Shipping Agency Company in the Operation Department with sound knowledge of the documentation section also.

- A good knowledge of the Shipping Operation system.

- Knowledge of computer systems.

- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.

- Strong ability to prioritize.

- Work in In-house programs like AFSYS and ORION.
