The company EC Agrotrade DMCC is a progressive and successful commodities trading house, specialising in the origination and distribution of physical cashew & sesame and the provision of value added services, including finance and risk management, to its international customer base. Our Head Office is in Dubai with overseas operations in West Africa and Asia. EC Agrotrade DMCC is part of the ECOM Group, one of the world\xe2\x80\x99s top three merchants in coffee, one of the largest coffee millers in the world and amongst the top five merchants in cotton and cocoa. The Operation Team looking for an ambitious and passionate person to join their team in Dubai, reporting directly to the Commodity Operations Director based in London. The Role The main objective of the Assistant Controller role is to work within the ENS teams, working closely to ensure ENS division operates within its limits, has good controls and follows the SOPS. In addition the department has to make regular reports to Group both weekly and monthly The role will work towards supporting overseas subsidiaries to improve profitability by ensuring sound business controls and good operational practices are in place. The objective of the role would be to work and learn about the business and its control practices to develop. This will enable the candidate to learn the business, group systems (Cognos, Navision, Qlik), gain extensive exposure to how a complex multinational group is managed and how commodity markets work. The role will be based in Dubai and it will likely to include visits to our London office and overseas subsidiaries (primarily in emerging markets) and could include future longer overseas secondments. The Group is also about to embark on an extensive systems replacement program and the candidate may be involved in some aspects of this. Candidate Profile

• • Degree level educated in a Business related subject with minimum achieved or expected 2:1 result.
  • Approximately 2-3 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in an related environment
  • Proven knowledge/experience of financial/accounting controls
  • Interest in emerging markets and in pursuing an international career
  • Demonstrated analytical and data management skills
  • Excellent excel skills; experience of other software would be advantageous; interest in and aptitude for systems is essential
  • International work experience and additional language skills (Spanish) would be beneficial
