Assistant Manager Supply Chain

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and finance to develop monthly and quarterly demand forecasts.
  • Prepare supply plans to meet forecasted demand while optimizing stock holding and working capital.
  • Manage procurement calendars in line with forecast, lead times, MOQ, and supplier capacity.
  • Review forecast vs actuals and lead continuous improvement in forecast accuracy.
  • Raise and track purchase orders and follow up with suppliers for confirmation and dispatch timelines in coordination to the Supply-chain manager
  • Ensure all purchase and shipment documentation is in place
  • Liaise with finance for PO approvals, supplier payments, and reconciliations.
  • Evaluate supplier performance based on delivery reliability, lead time, and responsiveness.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs agents, and transporters for all inbound shipments.
  • Ensure timely customs clearance and transport of goods to warehouses (port-to-door management).
  • Monitor and manage freight costs, demurrage/detention risk, and import-related compliance.
  • Track container arrivals and update expected delivery timelines to the operations and warehouse teams.
  • Maintain logs of all inbound shipments, with status updates and documentation
  • Ensure all inbound movements are properly recorded in the ERP system
  • Support development of dashboards to track supply chain KPIs and inbound logistics efficiency.
