About The Role

To streamline the procurement process liaising with Procurement Team

  • Source, pre-qualify and evaluate suppliers, purchase requisition, bids, Tenders etc
  • Develop tender documents with detailed specifications to obtain competitive bids
  • Negotiate contract prices and terms and conditions for all commodities and services to ensure best value for money
  • Impact of a changing market and propose alternatives to departments
  • Recommendations to the Senior Procurement Manager and Departments for purchase orders
  • Assessing Price and Quality of suppliers
  • Performance evaluation of Suppliers and Vendors
  • Bid evaluation, post tender evaluation.
  • Generate periodic reports
  • Coordinate on ISO and other Audits
Key Duties And Responsibilities
  • Assist the Senior Procurement Manager, in purchasing products and services of superior quality for the hotel as per specification.
  • Be familiar with all categories of Purchases and the use of the ADACO system.
  • Manage and process purchase requests on receipt ensuring competitive quotations, delivery dates and specifications are obtained
  • Evaluate purchase requisition, source & select appropriate vendors, prepare RFQ, evaluate bids, participate in pre-tender /post tender evaluation with suppliers, analyse and prepare reports & recommendations for review & approval by line Managers.
  • In conjunction with User Departments, consultant and legal develop tender documents to produce detailed specifications and issue for tender to obtain competitive bids. For tenders of high complexity, the job holder will also work with the line Manager in the development of the tender specifications.
  • Negotiate contract prices and terms and conditions for all commodities and services to ensure best value for money. Ensure that all aspects of the contracts and purchase orders issued are in accordance with user requirements and terms & conditions.
  • Update all concerned departments and line managers with any problems related to the purchase order /contracts and implement corrective action as required.
  • Carry out in-depth Supplier performance (will include site visits) monitoring and measurement analysis to enhance service level for all stake holders. Close liaison with User departments to build rapport and understand their needs.
  • Manage the timeliness of the ordering process i.e. from material requisition to order placement, to minimize lead time, systematically monitor the compliance of the order terms by suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
  • Provide support service to the Meydan Hospitality in close coordination with all the relevant departments to arrange materials & services, support the team on event management, logistics etc. In addition act as a focal point for one or more stables.
  • Periodic site visit to monitor work progress and performance measurement of supplier and contractors. Periodic visit to stables to meet the trainers to understand the current and future requirements thereby building strong relationships with user departments.
  • Closely monitor market developments and user requirements periodically to ensure strategic planning and forecasting also monitor vendor merger and acquisitions to ensure security of supply and meet the interest of the property.
  • Supervise, train and ensure effective performance of Buyers and Coordinator.
  • Responsible for the planning, organizing, sourcing, evaluation and negotiation for Hotel commodities and services to achieve value for money at the lowest total cost of ownership and best competitive position for the company in accordance with best practice of Procurement & Logistics techniques.
Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements
  • Preferable holder of diploma in Purchasing and international trade.
  • CIPS qualified (Desirable)
  • 4 years' experience with exposure to supervision of major capital acquisitions and service contract tenders and leading negotiations at a senior level in a dynamic environment.
