Job Description

Projects § Analyze the need for improvement in existing system/machinery or to introduce a new machinery in the existing set-up or to start a new set-up from scratch. § Oversees Capital Expenditure items including equipment purchases, contracted labor and in-house construction and fabrication projects. § Assisting and coordinating in installation of new plant and modification of existing plant wherever necessary and possible. § Prepare project proposals and develop project plan, schedule and budget. § Prioritize, plan and coordinate project development activities according to company requirements. § Supervise projects team, both in-house and outsourced, to execute assigned projects within deadlines and budget. § Act as primary contact for company queries and concerns regarding projects with suppliers and consultants § Perform supplier/consultant negotiations for contractual terms and agreements. § Undertake scheduled visits to suppliers/consultants manufacturing facility § Determine resource requirements and identify resources with right skills to successfully execute projects. § Assess potential risks and technical challenges and develop appropriate mitigation plans. § Perform cash flow analysis and process invoices in a timely fashion. § Develop business presentations for the company as needed. § Develop cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality and productivity.Analyze and resolve project issues in timely and accurate manner. § Co-ordinate with suppliers/consultant for project installation, project inspection, supply of accessories, ensuring guarantee period works and follow-up on their commission. § Perform administration duties as department head with respect to attendance, leave approval, manpower scheduling, etc. Plant Engineering § Design, implement and maintain preventive as well as predictive maintenance programs. § Supervising repairs and maintenance (scheduled & unscheduled) of all company plant. § Supervise maintenance and service, both preventive and breakdown, for plant and machinery, office, factory and forklifts. § Prepare and administer department budget within established guidelines for maintenance and repair of building and equipment. § Provide technical help, drawings, instructions to effectively discharge maintenance and service duties § Maintain plant quality performance standards. § Keeping machine maintenance records. § Oversee the activities of work allotment, supervision and control of all maintenance staff. § Ensure safe and conducive machine operating environments § Able to manage and direct an engineering service workforce. § Facilitates and fosters a teamwork-oriented philosophy. § Perform stock optimization review of spares and consumables required for maintenance and service including review of minimum and maximum reorder levels § Organize engineering jobs with outside workshops to meet emergency maintenance requirements. § Plan and ensure proper utilization of workshop machinery § Perform purchase of spares and consumables especially high value items related to maintenance and service § Provide emergency response including; equipment repair, damage control, and assignment of support personnel as needed. § Provides necessary training to new and existing employees in the department § Keeps up to date on technological changes to meet new laws and efficiency standards.

Qualifications: § A degree in engineering preferably in mechanical engineering or Civil engineering. (Can also be an electrical engineer) Skills/Knowledge: § Analytical skills. § Excellent budgeting preparation skills. § Negotiation skills. § Interpersonal skills. § Budget planning skills. § Business relationship building skills (consultants, suppliers). § Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the Mechanical trade. § Skill in estimating time and material requirements of assigned work projects. § Strong communication skills. § Good co-ordination skills. § Time and man management skills. § Record keeping skills. § Scheduling skills.

Experience: § 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing set up in a similar role.
