Job Summary:

The Assistant Manager - Industrial Engineering will be responsible for planning, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes, methods, and layouts to improve productivity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. The role will focus on driving lean initiatives, standardizing work practices, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals for operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct time and motion studies to establish standard operating times.

Implement lean manufacturing tools (Kaizen, 5S, SMED, Poka-Yoke) to optimize processes.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

Design and optimize plant layouts for efficient material flow and space utilization.

Prepare capacity plans and manpower requirements based on production forecasts.

Support expansion projects, new product introduction, and automation initiatives.

Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPI) such as productivity, downtime, and utilization.

Provide insights and recommendations for performance improvement based on data analysis.

Work closely with production, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams.

Support training of operators and supervisors on new processes and productivity standards.

Participate in audits and compliance-related activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Strong knowledge of industrial engineering principles and lean tools.

Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD (for layout design), and production planning tools.

Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.

Strong project management and team-handling capabilities.

Education:

Bachelor's in industrial engineering / mechanical engineering / production engineering (Master's preferred).

Experience:

5-8 years of relevant experience in Industrial Engineering in a manufacturing environment, preferably with exposure to lean manufacturing and automation projects.
