About the Role:

An opportunity has arisen for Assistant Manager - Conference & Events to join the Food & Beverage Team at Jumeirah Beach Hotel. The main purpose of the role is to oversee and manage all aspects of weddings, smaller events and group business in C&E. Assist in planning, organizing, and directing the overall running of the C&E events and groups as well as maintaining established quality standards in a manner consistent with resort standards and customer needs under the general guidance and supervision of the Director of C&E and within the limits of resort policies and procedures.

The main responsibilities are:

The Assistant Manager will be the point of contact for the client and the entire event operation (including banquet, accounting, technical, audio visual, rooms division and kitchen).

To communicate effectively with all departments within the hotel who will be involved in carrying out the needs of a group/guests.

To coordinate with other departments the needs of a group which will directly affect that department (i.e., amenities, arrival/departure time, deliveries, special meal requirements)

To maintain the policies set forth in the group sales contract (i.e., deposits, cut off dates, attrition, rooming lists, billing instructions).

To coordinate the sales efforts between events department and catering to ensure proper utilization of function space to yield maximum revenues.

To have an excellent knowledge of hotel facilities, capacities, and dimensions of meeting rooms.

The ability to negotiate with clients and achieve maximum revenue/profit potential while satisfying client needs.

The ability to develop creative and attractive menu presentations for potential clients.

To conduct tours of the property with potential clients.

Demonstrate a very good working knowledge of SOP\'s, standard set-ups, floor plans and menus.

Make suggestions to management for the improvement of operational procedures and improvement of customer satisfaction.

Preparation of BEO\'s, group information sheets, event amendments, and other event documentation.

To ensure all information in Delphi is accurate, including client date, activities, and events.

Update banqueting forecasts for future bookings and actual revenues of history bookings on weekly basis.

Ensure that the necessary forms are filled out and signed off and all arrangements have been made before entertaining clients at the resort.

To be familiar with banquet service standards to better sell the facilities of the hotel.

Check function room set-ups prior to guest arrival, ensuring all details agree with client\'s requirements and hotel standards.

Maintain a high standard of personal appearance at all times.

Demonstrate dedication and commitment to the role.

Have complete understanding of relevant resort policies and procedures, particularly in relation to fire, hygiene, health, and safety.

Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned by the Director.

About you:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

Hotel School Degree (Desired)

Minimum of 2 years\' experience in C&E or Sales within a hotel/conference centre environment.

Proficient in English-Level 3 as minimum (Read/Write/Speak-Essential)

Knowledge of additional language (Desired)

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast paced, high-volume environment.

Highly motivated and passionate about customer service.

Technical knowledge on Tahweel, HIS, Purchasing Software, MS Office applications, F&B applications.
