Job Description

We are hiring a

qualified and motivated Assistant Heavy Mechanic Department Coordinator

to support the operations of our heavy vehicle maintenance unit. The ideal candidate must hold a

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field

and have

a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in the auto-mechanical industry

. This role involves supporting the coordination of maintenance schedules, work orders, parts procurement, and daily workshop activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Heavy Mechanic Department Coordinator in planning and scheduling maintenance and repair tasks. Monitor and manage work orders, job cards, and equipment service records. Coordinate with mechanics to ensure timely completion of vehicle servicing and repairs. Track inventory of parts and materials; assist in procurement and supplier follow-up. Maintain accurate logs and documentation for inspections, service history, and downtime. Provide administrative support including report generation, time tracking, and parts usage reports. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintenance procedures. Support new technician onboarding and communication between departments. Communicate with vendors for service quotations, parts availability, and delivery timelines.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required:

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Technology

Minimum 2 years of experience in the auto-mechanical or heavy vehicle maintenance field

Familiarity with heavy-duty vehicles, machinery, and maintenance procedures Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and repair processes Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and maintenance management systems Good organizational and multitasking abilities Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred:

Experience with fleet maintenance systems or workshop coordination Valid driver's license (commercial preferred) Safety or workshop compliance certification

Work Environment:

Office and workshop-based role Occasional physical inspection of vehicles and equipment Must be comfortable in a mechanical and industrial setting
