Ensures efficient and continuous production of all utility services. Organizes operation of standing engines and mechanical equipment to provide power, water steam, de-ionized and reverse osmosis water systems, steam and compressed air and other utilities are available at all times.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

1-Provides administrative support to the Department Head in daily operational activities. 2. Assists with supervision of subordinates daily work activities. Assists with scheduling and with work assignments. 3. Evaluates performance of subordinates daily work activities. Assists with scheduling and with work assignments. 4. Assists, coordinates and participates in drill and actual implementation of disaster and contingency plans, as required. 5. Performs special projects and studies as assigned by Department Head and recommends action to be taken. Assists in the review, revisions and implementations of departmental policies and procedures. Assists in the preparation of department budget. 6. Determines departmental training needs. Assists in the training and orientation of new personnel. 7. Assists in the evaluation of candidates for employment and makes recommendations regarding hire. 8. Participates in the commissioning work and function tests of new equipment/systems, as related. 9. Coordinates departmental activities with other departments to resolve problems and to eliminate disruptions in operations and services. 10.Ensures that departmental personnel observe safe work practices and that tools and equipment are used properly. 11. Acts as Department Head in his absence or as assigned. 12. Follows all prescribed Hospital and departmental safety and other procedures.

Education

Bachelor Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering .

Experience Required

Eight (8) years of related experience including three (3) years in a supervisory capacity.
