The Assistant Gun Loader supports perforating and wireline operations by assisting with the preparation, assembly, loading, transportation, and maintenance of perforating guns and related explosive equipment. The role operates under the direct supervision of senior Gun Loaders, Perforating Operators, or Field Supervisors and strictly adheres to all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements governing explosives and oilfield operations. The Assistant Gun Loader is an entry-level field position with a strong emphasis on safety, procedural compliance, and operational discipline.
Responsibilities
Explosives mobilization and de-mobilization from one location to another with proper implementation of all the safety regulations.
Assist in assembling, loading, and disassembling perforating guns under supervision
Support rig-up and rig-down activities at the wellsite
Prepare equipment for field operations, including cleaning, inspection, and basic maintenance
Load and unload equipment, tools, and explosives for transportation
Assist with inventory tracking of perforating equipment and consumables
Follow operational instructions from Senior Gun Loader, Perforating Operator, or Supervisor
Support wireline crew during perforating operations as required
Clean, inspect, and maintain perforating tools and ancillary equipment
Identify damaged or non-conforming equipment and report to supervision
Ensure tools and equipment are stored, labeled, and transported correctly
Assist with completion of required job documentation, including explosive tracking forms and field tickets
Accurately record equipment usage and report discrepancies
Follow company documentation and reporting procedures
Work effectively as part of a wireline/perforating crew
Follow instructions clearly and communicate issues promptly
Maintain professional conduct with coworkers, supervisors, and customers

Basic mechanical aptitude
Physical ability to perform manual labor in field conditions
Willingness to work long hours, nights, weekends, and on-call rotations
Ability to work in high-pressure, safety-critical environments
Communication skills in both English and Arabic
Qualifications
Entry level
High school or diploma
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
Physically fit for oilfield work, including lifting, bending, and working outdoors
Willingness to travel and work at site
