Job Scope:
You will be the Finance partner to the Digital Marketing, Media, and Commerce Hubs (DM2CH) Arabia Lead – working with the finance Business Unit partners and be responsible for the monthly closing of Brand Marketing Investment (BMI) spend for Arabia. You will be able to identify risks and opportunities within this space and suggest and drive improvements within BMI spend across all the Arabia Business Units. You will be part of a key agenda within Unilever’s Fuel 4 Growth (F4G) for promotions and media savings projects.
Roles & Responsibilities
To identify and highlight opportunities for improvement in BMI spend and Media decisions
Support the DM2CH Arabia Lead in meetings and decisions
Be the key contact for support related to advertising and promotions Activity Proposals (APs) on Unify
Monthly closing of advertising, keeping track of releases and ensuring they get reflected
Monthly closing of promotions and Point of Sale (POS) and provision tracking
Promotion budget reconciliation vs. forecast (weekly) and media spend reconciliation (monthly, keeping track of prior year spends, agreed bonuses, etc.)
Quarterly Gulf Sales Bill of Materials (BOM) update
Ensure the Arabia P&L is not carrying a risk by flagging comparing the financial forecast with media plans, Digital Hub spends, and agency fees
Coordinate with and be the link between finance and media teams to find mitigations and manage impacts in case risks are identified and to keep teams informed on budget or plan changes
Provide monthly insights on Media spend using SOS/SOM and B-Smart
Provide analysis on and track new projects to be reflected as Fuel 4 Growth savings (F4G) for Arabia and highlight any inefficiencies you identify in the process
Monitor the progress of media and promotions savings projects in the funnel versus the ambition and keep the business unit teams up to date on these. Ensure the monthly submission is capturing all opportunities by coordinating with the media team and BU teams.
Key Competencies & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance / Accounting
+3 Years of Experience in month Controlling or business partnering preferably in FMCG industry
Experience of working with key information systems and computer literacy (incl. Excel, Power point, and SAP)
Excellent communication skills - Impactful and flexible communicating and influencing
Highly analytical without losing sight of the bigger picture
Strong business acumen
