SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:
The Assistant / Associate Professor in Clinical Pharmacy develops and delivers courses within the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program, with a focus on patient-centered care, pharmacotherapy, and professional practice skills. This role emphasizes excellence in teaching, scholarly activity, and service while assessing student performance, managing instructional resources, and supporting accreditation and quality assurance initiatives. The position contributes to the University's mission by advancing pharmacy education, research, and community engagement in healthcare practice.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Designs, develops, and delivers engaging courses in clinical pharmacy, pharmacotherapy, and pharmacy practice within the PharmD curriculum, aligned with the University's core pillars: Teaching, Research, and Community Service.
Facilitates experiential learning, skills laboratories, simulations, and Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs) to enhance clinical competence.
Assesses student performance, provides constructive feedback, and mentors students to support academic, professional, and clinical development.
Develops course materials, syllabi, instructional resources, and clinical teaching tools to optimize learning outcomes.
Integrates innovative teaching methodologies and educational technologies to enhance student engagement and learning effectiveness.
Participates in accreditation, assessment, and institutional quality assurance activities related to the PharmD program.
Engages in scholarly activities, including research, publication, and supervision of student projects, as appropriate.
Undertakes additional duties as assigned to support departmental, college, and university objectives.
