Area Program Manager - (Beni Suef & Minia) - Middle Egypt. Purpose of the Job This position oversees programs in the assigned areas in Beni Suef to Mattay Minia and ensures the achievement of goals through the smooth functioning of all program activities. The incumbent provides quality services to children and others served by Coptic Orphans programs. He/she supervises and manages field staff in day-to-day program operations and activities, and oversees the development, training, and ongoing work of field coordinators and volunteers. Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Lead successful implementation, planning, monitoring, and reporting of Not Alone program according to the assigned budgets, policies, and plans
Ensure timely and effective implementation of activities while adhering to the established policies. Report issues, concerns, and successes to the Program Manager/director and other departments
Supervise and support Field Coordinators in carrying out and implementing all programs, through coaching, discussions, and field visits to ensure effective team performance.
Ensure team's professional development, provide team members with technical support, and keep team motivated and knowledgeable
Set, implement, and track budgets for training, activities, housing, and medical care to ensure proper budget allocation and efficient use of resources
Oversee effective financial management of all programs in the area, including monitoring of funds allocated to volunteer representatives on quarterly basis
Set plans for further growth of the area and ensure timely implementation, documenting progress through weekly updates and other reports
Maintain open and effective communication channels with Cairo office through attending monthly and other office meetings as necessary
Make periodic field visits and track new cases, continuously assessing needs in the assigned area
Conduct and manage the quarterly training for volunteers, ensuring they have the common understanding of Coptic Orphans' values, directions, and policies
Perform other relevant duties and tasks as assigned by the direct manager
Supervisory Responsibilities This position supervise and manage 2-8 Field Coordinators. Required Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills
Bachelor degree with 10 years of professional experience, 5 of which must be relevant NGO work experience
Able to assess social situations and act tactfully and responsibly
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must
Experience working in the field of development, child development, or education
Experience working with Coptic community
Supervisory and team-leading experience
Very Good command of the English language, written and spoken
Experience using Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel, as well as Internet navigation
Good presentation and training skills are preferred
Fiscal Responsibilities (budgeting responsibilities, approval privileges on purchase orders and check requests, reporting and auditing functions) Participate in annual program budgeting decisions in the assigned area. Validate expenses submitted by subordinates and approve expenses within the delegation limit. Monitor expenses to ensure they do not exceed the assigned budget. Extent of Public Contact (within and outside the organization)
Extensive daily contact and communication with Sr. APMs, APMs, Field Coordinators, volunteer representatives, Program Manager, Cairo office staff and HQ office
Frequent contact with program beneficiaries, church hierarchy, and other program stakeholders
Working Conditions and Environment (i.e., necessary travel, unusual work hours, etc.)
Frequent travel within the assigned region, and some travel to different regions of Egypt. Travel may reach up to 70% of the time
Typical field environment including walking, sitting, typing, using public transportation, and occasional lifting of boxes or luggage
Working out of the official hours and on weekends may be required
