Responsibilities

. Curriculum Leadership+ Lead the development, implementation, and review of the Arabic A and Arabic B curricula (and Islamic Studies if under their oversight), ensuring alignment with local Ministry of Education standards and the school's academic goals.
+ Ensure that teaching plans, resources, and assessments meet high academic standards and suit the diverse needs of students.


2. Team Leadership and Management+ Supervise, mentor, and support Arabic and Islamic Studies teachers, providing regular feedback, lesson observations, and performance reviews.
+ Foster a collaborative, professional department culture focused on continuous improvement and sharing of best practices.


3. Teaching and Learning Quality+ Monitor the quality of teaching and learning across the department, ensuring consistency, innovation, and student engagement.
+ Lead initiatives to improve student outcomes, including differentiated instruction, use of data, and innovative pedagogical strategies.


4. Assessment and Data Analysis+ Oversee the design and moderation of assessments, ensuring they are fair, rigorous, and aligned with curriculum objectives.
+ Analyze student performance data to identify trends, strengths, and areas for improvement, and develop action plans accordingly.


5. Staff Development and Training+ Organize and deliver departmental training sessions and workshops.
+ Support teachers in professional development and ensure they remain updated on curriculum changes and best practices.


6. Parental and Community Engagement+ Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, curriculum matters, and departmental initiatives.
+ Promote Arabic language and cultural events (e.g., Arabic Language Day, poetry competitions) within the school community.


7. Resource Management+ Manage departmental resources, budgets, and teaching materials effectively.
+ Ensure classrooms are well-equipped and teachers have access to necessary resources.


8. School Leadership Collaboration+ Work closely with the senior leadership team to align departmental goals with the whole-school vision.
+ Participate in school-wide leadership meetings and contribute to strategic planning.


9. Compliance and Reporting+ Ensure that all departmental activities comply with local education authority requirements and school policies.
+ Prepare and submit reports on department performance, initiatives, and outcomes when required.
