Scope: The position is based out of Enerflex Abu Dhabi office while reporting to Enerlflex USA. The applications engineer is responsible for providing conceptual engineering, cost estimating and proposal preparation for gas processing equipment and supporting International Sales effort. Equipment includes modular equipment for dew point plants, mechanical refrigeration units, fractionation trains, cryogenic plants, amine systems, TEG dehydration, molecular sieve, and other systems found in the mid-stream market. The applications engineer will also advise and support sales with client meetings, presentation, setting bid strategy, etc.This position is for an individual with 10 or more years in the industry capable of developing simulations in HYSYS and/or ProMax and a mature understanding of facility integration. The Rest of World (ROW) Applications team consists of highly skilled, motivated engineers. This position is a key member of the team responsible for supporting the sales of compression and gas treating and processing equipment for the International and Latin America Regions. A positive attitude combined with strong communication and technical skills are necessary for success in this role. Principle duties and responsibilities:

• Evaluate the design and performance of the proposed equipment based on customer specifications; ensure deliverability and reliability of suppliers to meet Customers specifications and time-table
• Review scope definition and project specifications, prepare system process simulation, develop equipment sizing, prepare cost estimates and technical and commercial proposals.
• Participate in development of proposal Process Flow Diagrams.
• Maintain knowledge of codes and standards applicable to the products in the global market.
• Interface with all operational departments within the company.
• Interface and coordinate with third party engineering company to develop proposal deliverables as required by the project
• Maintain customer relationships; participate in client clarification meetings as required.
• Duties must be performed consistently with the company mission and values and adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Quality: Ensure alignment of Enerflex, customer and vendor quality control and quality assurance in bids.
• Abide by and promote Enerflexs HSE policy.

Job specifications:

• Engineering or Engineering Technology degree and or an equivalent background. Chemical Engineering degree preferred
• 7 yrs. knowledge of the fundamentals required by the equipment used in our products
• Experience with packaging condensate Stabilizers, amine units, TEG, Cryos, etc
• Thermodynamics
• Chemistry
• Process Controls
• Equipment sizing (vessels, heat exchangers, and pumps)
• Gas Compression
• Ability to develop conceptual designs based on the principles listed above
• Advanced knowledge of product mechanical design, thermodynamics, chemical processing, and instrumentation & controls
• Fluent in developing simulations in HYSYS or ProMax
• Knowledge of commercial terms and conditions of sale
• Solid IT skills
• Fluency in English. Additional languages are a plus
• Time management skills including multi-tasking competing priorities as needed
• Ability to generate alternative solutions
• Being customer-centered and able to maintain satisfied customer and vendor relationships
• Track record of successfully resolving technical problems with a desire and ability to continue learning
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Must be self-motivated and team oriented, capable of learning, managing time, priorities, and operating well under pressure with little supervision
• Knowledge of API, GPA, ASME, ANSI, NACE and other applicable codes
• Working knowledge of Middle East and Africa region is a plus

• Fast-paced general office environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity

• Occasionally required to work non-standard hours including evenings and weekends
