Application Support Engineer (software Development Background)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Application Support Engineer Software Development Background (Level 2 & Level 3) to provide technical support for a diverse range of enterprise applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing multiple applications, ensuring smooth operation and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide technical support for various applications at Level 2 & Level 3.

Manage and support application servers such as JBoss, WebLogic, and Tomcat for Java-based applications.

Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, errors, and performance issues by analyzing logs and application properties.

Develop and optimize PL/SQL and SQL queries, functions, and stored procedures for error resolution and performance enhancement.

Maintain and support WPS (Wage Protection System) and salary disbursal processes in compliance with Central Bank regulations.

Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for production issues and transaction failures across digital mobile payments (NI, VISA, Dubai Pay, Central Bank SFTP), GFT, SWIFT, and instant transfers.

Lead and develop a customer-focused application support team, ensuring high performance and efficient service delivery.

Utilize Service Engine Ticketing Tools to manage incidents, service requests, problem management, and change management within SLA timelines.

Collaborate with Database Administrators, IT Operations, Network Team, and Product Team for seamless application performance and issue resolution.

Perform application and server monitoring, alerting, and validation post-release and deployments.

Conduct log search and log analysis in production servers for error resolution.

Perform patching, purging, and deployment activities.

Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports from the database using SQL queries for ad hoc requests.

Monitor and analyze data using Power BI, SSRS, and Tableau for financial and application health reporting.

Restart production servers when required.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in application support and system administration.

Expertise in JBoss, WebLogic, Tomcat, and troubleshooting Java-based applications.

Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL with experience in stored procedures and query optimization.

Strong experience in financial applications, particularly in banking/payments and regulatory compliance.

Hands-on experience in troubleshooting banking transactions and digital payment systems.

Familiarity with financial transaction protocols such as SWIFT, GFT, and instant transfers. Apply at faisal.khan@avanzsolutions.com
