Main Job Purpose
Main Job Purpose
- Assessment of Service life Corrosion (SLC) and selection of materials for onshore / offshore and pipeline facilities and sour service requirements to ISO 15156/NACE MR0175
- Design of Cathodic Protection (CP) systems and Corrosion Monitoring (CM) facilities for onshore offshore and pipeline facilities.
- Develop Corrosion Management philosophy and perform Integrity assessment for onshore / offshore and pipeline facilities.
- Selection and performance evaluation of corrosion inhibitors for oil and gas applications
- Selection of external corrosion protection coating systems
- Preparation of Project Specifications, RFQ\xe2\x80\x99s, TBE, & MR for Materials, Coatings, Welding, Fabrication and Inspection.
- Study Intelligent Pigging (IP) requirement and perform Level-3 Engineering Critical Assessment (ECA) of identified pipeline defects as per BS 7910 / API 579.
- Review approval of vendor fabrication, welding, repair and NDE procedures.
- Evaluate new products related to Materials, Coatings and Corrosion Control
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis and Corrosion Failure investigations
- Perform QA/QC Audit on vendor activities related to Coating, Welding and Inspection.
- Perform review, selection of pipe mills & coatings yards
- Participate in site activities and client meetings.
- Quality Assurance \xe2\x80\x93 Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the BU, etc
- Safety \xe2\x80\x93 Responsible for personal safety safe working practices for the BU, etc. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.
- Relevant experience in materials selection, corrosion assessment, management & integrity assessments for onshore / offshore and pipeline projects.
- Experience in use of international Corrosion Modelling software packages.
- Good knowledge in refinery, offshore and pipeline corrosion processes and mitigation methods
- Experience in performing ECA
- Working knowledge in fabrication, welding, repair and NDE.
- Good knowledge and experience with the international codes and standards like ASME, API, NACE, ISO and DNV.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Bachelors Degree in Corrosion Engineering, Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (with Corrosion experience)
