Job Description
The Animal Keeper is responsible for ensuring the health, hygiene, and overall welfare of animals under their care by maintaining clean, safe, and well-organized environments. The role reports to the immediate Supervisor and operates in accordance with company policies, standard operating procedures, and animal welfare standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Animal Care & Monitoring:
Ensure animals are clean, well-groomed, and kept in a fresh and healthy environment. Observe animals daily and identify any unusual conditions, abnormal behavior, or signs of illness. Promptly report illness, disease, injury, or unusual activity to technicians or veterinarians for further action.
Shelter & Facility Maintenance:
Clean and sanitize animal shelters, farms, runs, and related areas according to the approved cleaning checklist and routine schedule. Follow established shelter procedures to maintain high standards of hygiene and safety at all times.
Compliance & Reporting:
Adhere strictly to company protocols and policies related to animal care, welfare, and safety. Maintain accurate records of cleaning, sanitation, and daily activities. Report any deviations, issues, or concerns to the Supervisor.
Additional Duties:
Assist with any other tasks or responsibilities assigned by the Manager as required.
Requirements:
Previous experience in animal care, farming, or similar roles is an advantage Basic knowledge of animal welfare, hygiene, and safety practices. Ability to follow instructions, cleaning schedules, and standard operating procedures. Physically fit and willing to work in farm or outdoor environments. Team-oriented with good observation and reporting skills.
