Overview

Under the direction of the Sr. Manager, Quality and Patient Safety, the Analyst, Quality and Patient Safety is responsible for providing support to develop, maintain and implement quality improvement initiatives based on identified quality and safety gaps; Perform in-depth problem solving, independent decision-making and coordination of quality programs; Utilize quality/process improvement tools, methodologies and technologies to solve business problems and enhance operations.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with clinical process improvement, accreditation, patient safety, and clinical risk management activities.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities, recommendations and trainings for improvement and measure success of action plans.
  • Support activities related to the education of Caregivers, such as, New Caregiver Orientation, annual refresher training and ad-hoc training.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of safety culture.
  • Assists in all accreditation and regulatory activities, including surveys, survey preparation, readiness assessments and Tasneef Jawda audits.
  • Participate in the concurrent and retrospective review of data and processes to assess compliance with standards/regulatory vulnerabilities and support Quality department leaders to improve achievement.
  • Conduct QA audits; Follow-up to ensure all actions are completed.
  • Manage the document management system (i.e. updating SOPs, obsoleting outdated documents, appropriate distribution of active documents and ensuring timely acknowledgement of SOPs)
  • Assist with reviews of internal patient safety event (incident) reports and analyzes level of harm, risk and liability exposure.
  • Assist in the development of reporting tools to identify patient safety issues and processes of care to improve outcomes, facilitating Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCAs) in coordination with quality leadership to effectively drive change.
  • Contributes to the day-to-day quality monitoring and provides administrative support to the quality assessment process
  • Participates heavily in data collection process for quality performance evaluation
  • Coordinates, on frequent basis, with other departments with regards to relevant data gathering, analysis and reporting
  • Ensures accurate data capture by validating data entries
  • Develops concise and accurate reports
  • Collects, validates and reports data related to hospital accreditation, specialty certification, Department of Health and/or Dubai Health Authority regulatory requirements and Jawda Data Certification (where applicable).
  • Submits data per internal requirements (i.e. QSC and Mubadala Health Corporate) and regulatory requirements (i.e. quarterly Jawda reporting).
  • Use data to identify systems-based improvement opportunities.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate quality outcomes, noting trends, and identifying and prioritizing opportunities to improve.
  • Conduct chart reviews and clinical audits as needed.
  • Develop data reports and visualizations.
  • Actively attend and participate in monthly, regularly scheduled meetings and provide updates to management as delegated.
  • Provide monthly/quarterly quality metric reports and/or presentations to management as delegated/assigned.
  • Provides meeting documentation and contributes to meeting facilitation, when required
Qualifications

UAE National is preferred.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Nursing, Health Sciences or related filed
  • Preferably Certified Professional in Health Care Quality (CPHQ) or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 year\'s healthcare quality experience
  • Minimum 2 year\'s analytical experience
  • Experience with Plan, Do, Study, Act (PDSA) Model for Improvement and/or Lean Six Sigma is preferred.
Job Specific Skills and Abilities
  • Proficient in the use of statistical tools and analytical methodologies
  • Strong understanding of quality measures and reporting
  • High proficiency with standard computer software programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Strong oral and written communication
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
