CrossBoundary is recruiting a full-time Analyst to assist with the entire value chain across investment advisory in Iraq.

As an Analyst, you will be tasked with evaluating investment opportunities, conducting macroeconomic market assessments, and providing transaction support to both investors and capital seekers. This may include identifying and evaluating investment opportunities, supporting investment exits, conducting financial analysis, performing due diligence, conducting business development, managing client & investor relationships, and representing CrossBoundary at conferences and similar events This role will also include administrative responsibilities such as managing the relationship with local legal and tax consultants, invoicing and bank accounts in Iraq, managing the office premises, and other operational activities.

Prior experience working in high-caliber investment banking and/or management consulting institutions will be regarded favorably.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Company identification and evaluation
  • Identify and rigorously assess investment opportunities
  • Market assessment and ongoing market analysis
  • Conduct macroeconomic, regulatory, and operational assessments
  • Provide sector analysis of priority areas for investment
  • Provide team local context by keeping updated on local political and financial news and by maintaining relationships with a broad range of stakeholders in Iraq
  • Investor qualification and relations
  • Assist in identifying relevant, qualified investors
  • Assist in managing numerous investor relationships
  • Transaction support
  • Prepare sell- and buy-side investment memoranda and pitch decks
  • Develop company valuation and forward-looking financial models
  • Support investor due diligence and transaction execution through financial close
  • Support management of client relationships
  • Operational and administrative support
  • Managing the relationship with local legal and tax consultants
  • Invoicing and bank accounts in Iraq
  • Managing the office premises
Qualifications

Required skills and qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s degree required
  • Fluent written and spoken English and Arabic, with excellent Kurdish an added bonus
  • Strong quantitative skills and finance background; basic familiarity with company evaluations, accounting, and financial modeling, and enthusiasm to learn more about these topics
  • Excellent analytical ability and discipline; ability to think clearly, structure problems logically, and then design and implement solutions that focus on the core issues
  • Understanding of business dynamics in Iraq
  • Ability to build strong relationships with partners and colleagues
  • Excellent presentation skills; ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse audiences

Location

The Analyst will conduct most of their work in Erbil, Iraq, but can be based in a nearby region with frequent travel.
